About Me

I'm John Paez, a Senior Director of Engineering with a passion for continuous growth and innovation in the tech world. My story began in Nogales, Arizona, where I learned the importance of resilience and independence early on.

One of the most defining moments in my life was when my mom was diagnosed with cardiomyopathy and required a heart transplant in 1998 while I was in middle school. Miraculously, my mom pulled through and made a full recovery. That experience taught me a lot about strength and how to handle life's challenges head-on, both from my personal experience and through the lens of my mom's journey.

In 2010, I moved to Los Angeles to pursue new opportunities in the tech world. During a trip to San Francisco with friends, I met my husband George, who was living there at the time. We started dating in late September 2015, and I eventually convinced him to move back to the warm weather—first to San Diego from 2016 to 2018, and then to Los Angeles where we've been since. George has dedicated his career to education, transitioning from being a special education teacher to teaching 5th grade general education in Culver City since 2022. His passion for shaping young minds perfectly complements my drive for innovation in tech.

Today, I'm fortunate to have my mom living happily with George and me in North Hollywood, bringing our family full circle and allowing us to create new memories together every day.
